Aste Põhikool asub Saaremaal, Kaarma vallas, Kuressaarest 12 km. kaugusel põhja suunas. Kool alustas tööd 1961. a. 1. septembril Aste alevikus endises Vene sõjaväelennuvälja staabihoones.

Praegu õpib koolis 93 õpilast ja töötab 16 õpetajat. Tegeldakse spordiga, folklooriga. Koolil on arvutiklass ja E-posti kasutamine alates 1994. aasta sügisest. Koolil on loodud INTRANET. Alates 1998. a. detsembrist Interneti püsiühendus. Huvitutakse näitlemisest, kunstist ja puidutööst. Õppetöö toimub Eesti keeles. Lisaks õpitakse veel inglise- ja saksa keelt.

Kooli ümbritseb õpilaste poolt rajatud tammepark. Saaremaa tähtsaima maavara - dolomiidi üks kaevandusi asub koolist 2 km. kaugusel.

Aste School is situated on the biggest island of Estonia, in Saaremaa (Ösel), in Kaarma Commune, about 12 km. from Kuressaare to north. The school started working on the first of September in 1961, in the stuff building on a former soviet air force base, what was in the borough of Aste.

There are 93 pupils and 16 teachers at the school. Pupils are engaged in acting, folklore, art and they go in for sports. There is a computer class in the school. Sessional work is in Estonian but English and German is also learned. We have Internet online and E-Mail.

There is oak tree park around the school, which is planted by schoolgirls and -boys.

About 2 km from the school there is limstone quarry, which is one of Saaremaa's most valuable natural resource.
